According to the German translation Heimweh is a nostalgia for your homeland. It’s a complex of feelings that has no equivalent in Ukrainian language.
Contemplating the hard, almost black sky in Dortmund (Germany) and recalling the endless blue of the sky in Kyiv (Ukraine) I thought about environmental determinism. Is it really true that nature has a deep impact on people’s psychology, their abilities, propensity, and temperament? Therefore I have started my observations.
These polaroids and soil samples of Ukrainian and German soil are the one of such observations. This is a research of soil colors in both countries and their impact on individual perception of colors.
