When all your wishes are granted, many of your dreams will be destroyed, 2017
Wire. Dimension variable.
Traditionally a girl grows up in the world knitted out of customs and stereotypes about a lady. It is a fairy tale about a princess in a beautiful dress, prince riding the white horse, gorgeous castle and eternal love. In adolescence, everything turns into “to be a lady”, to have a happy marriage (prince must have a fancy car and decent bank account), to have a nice house in the respectable district and to execute good wife responsibilities. Real life transforms fairy tales into a woman’s behavior patterns.
During the whole life, grownup princesses search for a prince and eternal love. But the reality is rather trivial and cruel. The crown of diamond dreams has been losing its stones. Our desires, constructed by public opinion, become reality, convert into a domestic routine. Little princesses’ dreams are destroyed by the time and the objective world.
Disappointment is not an attribute of gender, but what if these fairy tales determine woman destiny? What if we by ourselves condemn the following generation to search the phantom crowns? Everybody wants to be a princess but maybe it’s worth to be yourself? Who teaches us to be real?
